How We Work
Our collection of ethical and sustainable bridal wear is donated by brides and brands. Everything you purchase from us is either preloved or pre-made, which means our product doesn't introduce any new impact on the environment. What's more, we make sure we work with brands that share our values.

What's more, for every £3 spent with Brides do Good, we give £1 to our Impact Partners who focus on empowering women and girls and ending child marriage. By working directly with those at risk and their communities, our Impact Partners can create sustainable change and strive for a brighter future.

In recent years gender inequality and child marriage has gained increasing prominence on international agendas. We have a unique opportunity to act now, and accelerate our efforts to change the lives of girls and women all over the world, for good.
Ending child marriage requires work across many sectors at a variety of levels. We must understand the complicated drivers behind the practise in different contexts and adapt our approaches accordingly.
That is why we work with child marriage and gender equality organisations to understand the issue, and identify the right experts to partner with.

Our Partners + Programmes
Plan International UK
Plan International UK strive to advance children’s rights and equality for girls all over the world. Every child has immense potential, but this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination, and it is girls who are most affected. Plan is committed to taking action to see a world that values girls, promotes their rights and ends injustice.

We have been working with Plan since we began. Most recently helping to fund their Safe Schools for Refugees Programme in Ethiopia, which works to provide safe access to quality education for the South Sudanese refugees and their host communities in the Gambella region.
Lifting the Veil : Ending Child Marriage in England and Wales
In 2019 we launched our #OnlyAGirl campaign to raise awareness amongst the public and decision makers in England and Wales of the need for change in relation to Child Marriage here at home. In 2020 we joined forces with the Safeguard Futures Ban Child Marriage Campaign, a coalition of UK organisations calling on the UK government to make child marriage a crime in England and Wales. Currently, the law allows 16 and 17-year olds to marry with parental consent, a legal exception that leaves children vulnerable to parental and familial coercion to enter into a marriage against their will.
We hosted Lifting the Veil, a first-of-its-kind event at Parliament, bringing together experts, survivors, charity organisations and Parliamentarians to discuss how we can work together and lobby for change.
Huru International
Without the resources or information to manage menstruation, millions of girls around the world are forced to miss school during their periods. This causes them to fall behind both academically and socially and increases their vulnerability to gender-based violence and health issues. An increased risk of poverty and financial insecurity often leads to instances of child marriage.
Huru is committed to providing a straightforward and sustainable solution: locally producing and delivering high-quality menstrual pads alongside sexual and reproductive health education to girls and their peers. Because no girl should be limited by her period.
1 in 5 girls living in poverty in India drop out of school when they start their periods due to cultural taboos and lack of sanitation.
Sanitation First + CODE RED
2.4 billion people worldwide do not have access to a toilet; the consequences of this kills more children than Aids, Malaria, and Measles combined. Provision of adequate sanitation has been identified by the World Bank as the single most cost-effective public health intervention to reduce child mortality.

With good sanitation whole communities are healthier, adults can go to work, and children can stay in school. By earning, learning and spending less on tackling poor health, millions of families can have a brighter future full of opportunity.

Sanitation First work with communities in India where over 700 million people have no toilet, and over 10 million children every year leave school when they start their periods due to poor facilities and harmful taboos. Sanitation First's sustainable solutions for sanitation work to provide cleaner, healthier environments for families to work and thrive.
